Youth Commission Eagle Awards

For the past 14 years, a special night has been set aside to recognize and honor students and community leaders who have displayed outstanding Christian leadership, character and zeal for Jesus Christ.  The Eagle Awards is an event unlike any other- combining a radiant pre-ceremony reception with an inspiring awards ceremony filled with entertainment and praise.

 

This year, the Eagle Awards will take place at Forest Hill Church in Charlotte off Park Road.  We are thrilled to fill this 1,800 seat auditorium to celebrate the work that God is doing through students, teachers and community leaders.

 Nomination Process

 

All nominations for this year's Eagle Awards can be cast online and it only takes about 5 minutes to complete a nomination form!  To nominate a student, teacher, athlete, mentor, or parent click on the appropriate "nominate" box.  Make sure you have the contact information for the individual you are nominating (name, email, phone and school).

 

Once an individual is nominated, the nominee will receive special notification via email along detailed instructions on how to go about submitting necessary documents and reference letters.  

 

In order for a nominee to qualify for an Eagle Award, reference letters and fact sheets must be submitted by April 8th.

Nomination Criteria

 

Outstanding Christian Leadership Eagle Award

  • Must be a Middle or High School student

  • Must have a GPA of 2.0 

  • Devout Christian student actively looking to make Christ known

Youth Commission Legacy Eagle Award  

  • Must be a graduating Senior

  • Must be active in leadership team of YCI Club or affiliate club 

  • Must have a GPA of 2.0

Outstanding Christian Athlete Eagle Award

  • Must be a Middle or High School student

  • Must have a GPA of 2.0

  • Devout Christian student viewing sports arena as mission field

Teacher Sponsor Eagle Award 

  • Must be serving as a club sponsor for an active YCI club 

  • Must be meeting regularly with and be supportive of the YCI Student Leadership team

  • Must be making a positive impact with students consistent with the mission of YCI

Campus Mentor Eagle Award 

  • Must be serving as the campus mentor for an active club 

  • Must be meeting regularly with and be supportive of the YCI Student Leadership Team

  • Must be making a positive impact with students consistent with the mission of YCI

Club of the Year Eagle Award

  • Must have a complete and active leadership team (Student Leaders, Teacher Sponsor, Campus Mentor)

  • Must be making a positive impact on the campus in the following areas: Community Service, School-wide Initiatives, Academic Achievement, Culturally Diverse club

Parent Eagle Award

  • Must volunteer in the campus club

  • Must be supportive of the faculty sponsor & campus pastor

  • Must be making a positive impact on students consistent with the mission of YCI
